Generator Paralleling
What it means.
Generator paralleling connects two or more generators to the same electrical bus so they share load and operate as one larger power source. The generators must synchronize frequency, voltage, and phase before connecting, which is managed by paralleling switchgear and control logic rather than the generators themselves.
Governing standard
Paralleling switchgear design and protection commonly follow IEEE 446 and NFPA 110 requirements for emergency and standby systems with multiple generator sets.
